Yes, how often people live the way of the world, although consider themselves Christians. If only they'd realize that rituals and "righteous" acts do not save them. Only the belief in the living Son of God can ensure us of our salvation. Once one is saved, the holy Spirit residing within his heart shall direct him by convicting his heart, swaying him from the pervert, but only if he shall submit to God and listen to God's still, small voice.

To be strong Christians not easily given to temptation, we must be grounded in the Word of God, our foundation of solid rock. The snares and temptations are beguiling, but God can help us overcome. We can do nothing in and of ourselves, and often when we try, we end up hurting ourselves. Why not submit to God? Why not realize the battle is already won?
