|Reviews for a wake|

Love the double-entendre in the title! And the conversational style of the poem! Leaving the end unpunctuated is kind of eerie-I like it! And the poem itself could just as easily describe someone after plastic surgery-that was really powerful and thought provoking; reminds me of how sick it can be when people try so hard to whitewash their memories of the dead so much that they forget what the person really meant to them-weaknesses and strengths. Great poem!

This makes me think. People should be cherished when they are alive yes cherished, loved and respected because they are important to us. Not for who they are but because we feel connected to them. When they die there memories should be held dear it should never be about the appearance it is about the heart about the love.
