Such a sweet story... There was not a single thing I did not like, it was awesome. And how nice to finally have one from an average-parent-kinda point of view! That was really interesting as well as original. And Howard's pov just happens to remind me of a short little interview that aired on the news the day of the gay pride, about how parents felt about their gay child, and which for some reason really made an impression on me (I had just started reading slash then). There was this one couple who had had trouble accepting their son as gay, but had gradually become very scared for him because of all the homophobic display he had to suffer through. In the end, they accepted it, but were not really happy about it, mostly because of the way he would probably be treated by the outside world.
So despite the fact that not everything coincides between your story and that totally random fact, I'm glad Lee got a HEA ; it makes me hope that the boy from the interview could've gotten one too.
