This five chapter story arc is my favorite that Miss Sawyer has published. These people, these characters truly come to life off the paper, from the world of black and white and into teh rhelm of fantasy... or history if you choose to believe those sorts of things.

The tragedy that befalls our heroine at the end is something we all can identify with. Her pain becomes our pain, her love becomes ours, her loss becomes ours.

Call this a flip side to Chuck Pahalinuk's writings. Instead of self destruction and nihilism, we're left with hope. Hope that our loves will return... and the knowledge that no matter how bad it gets, we will go on.
