I'm not sure I understand the symbolism in here. If it is meant to be symbolic, that is. I love the title. I'm a Latin reader and the name of the story just stung my eyes among your other works until I read it.

You have a gift of weaving an atmosphere which engulfs the reader, gives a dreamy quality to existence for one fleeting moment. But that is enough.

Hee! I really like this. Bizarre... seems very Victorian for some reason, probably just the dialogue. Lovely. The last line is absolutely perfect - the whole thing is great.
