I have one grampa. he was supposed to die ten years ago, but well, he's still alive. the other one died LOOOONG before I was even born. i've had 3 deaths in the past year or two. i understand your expirience.

this made me cry. HEART AND SOUL! I'm serious. it did make me cry.
Both my grampas are dead. one died of old age at ninety eight. he is scattered in the rivers of my homeland, India. My other grampa had medical conditions. though it sounds silly to say this, it is the only way i can describe it. his brain shut down. it didn't really shut down, but he was travelling and something popped. he is in my attic, in a jar, like very black pickles. he was 76.

I can relate to you,I lost my Grandfather,too.He died 2 hours before his birthday.Sad poem,but good work.

Wow. That was a really nice poem. I know exactly how you feel because my grandpa died, too. It was Janusary 4 of this year, and he was only 72. Very nice!!

This is a very touching poem...and I hope you are feeling better now. I know it is a little bit late but you have my condolence. Okay...overall, fairly consistant with the rhyming of the second and last lines of each stanza...well meters is not fairly consistant. Great usage of metaphor and nice personification of where the heart bleed. So...basically, it is a good poem and a very touching poem indeed.

~Sigh~ That was just plain wonderful, Melinda. Chock-full of feelings of the love you have for your Grandfather. Truly tender and touching. And I'm sure that he is proud of it. :->

I'm sorry about your grandfather's passing, though. My grandfather died years ago and I didn't get to see him before he died. He lived in NY and I lived in VA, so that was the main reason why, and I was in school as well.

I've never been into poetry much, but I like your poetry. You have a real talent for it. You should try getting into poetry writing professionally.

I know how it feels to loose someone you love, I couldn't even see my grandma one last time as they wouldn't let me go to the hospital. You did a very good work with this Melinda.
