Madame de Astolat 2007-02-22 . chapter 1
I have just a few comments. Puritains were the main religious group in America at that time. Quakers were tortured and burned, etc. by the Puritains. Third, Puritains held witchcraft trials, I don't believe Quakers believed in that aspect. Uhm, also...your story wasn't very descriptive about anything. Trials usually don't happen right away, even back then. But, yeah.

That was really good. You could have divided it into chapters though.

Good ending to a good story. It broke my heart when Laura died. I almost started weeping. V. sad and tragic, I say. I was so relieved when said she was innocent, but friggin Kevin just *had* to be posessed! *g*. My question is, now, why didn't Laura just confess to being a witch? At least she would have lived.because, I bet you know this, if you confessed, the church thought they could "purify" you. I would confess, gah. But anyway, very good story.

There are a lot of inauracy in your story. One, as kalanichan mentioned, the people of Salem were Puritain. Two, Samuel Parris was the reverand of Salem villege at the time. Lastly, no one in Salem was burned at the stake, the people who were executed were hung. It is really well written though. I don't mean to sound mean or anything, I just wanted to point out the facts.

It was the Puritans who did the Salem witch trials wasn't it? Yeah...Salem, Massachusetts. Massachusetts was Puritan country. Quakers lived in Pennsylvania. Quakers were very kind and tolerant. They was really friendly. Get it? "Friend"-ly? Ha! But otherwise for the slight historical inaccuracy (i do it all the time)its great!

That is not fair! How could Laura be so calm at the brink of death??! Of course, this is the witch trials, and there's pretty much nothing she could do! Awwww! But now that's pure evil, that Kevin! Killing his own girlfriend and his sister?! What kind of a brother is he!

Lol, of course the one possessed with the devil, but Laura should've tried reviving the real Kevin! So sad, but I loved it!

oh-my-gosh. That was such a GOOD story. I mean it, I really, really liked it! Great job!

Although it is sad that Laura will probably die, and Kevin will live on. I knew, though...right from when Kevin gave her the bag, I knew.

Poor Laura! And Pat, too. *sighs*

Great, though!

Wow. That was great! There was emotion and Laura seemed like a v. strong character. Is that it?

This is wonderfully deep and mournful. I love it.

But one thing -- didn't Scott propose to Laura a little quickly? I mean, it was kinda sudden. And why didn't Laura do something about Kevin before he accused her? She had more evidence against him than he had against her. You don't have to listen to my babbling...just ignore me if you want.

I really really liked your story though. It was written very well and I enjoyed reading it.
