Sophie Ulquiorra Allen 2007-03-09 . chapter 29A very interesting novella, to be sure. The ending was a little short for my liking, but I still think that you ended it very nicely. I also love your descriptions of all of the historical figures. I'm glad that Goebbels and Rommel did go off to Africa together. I wonder what will be in store for them? I do hope that you continue to write about their exploits. |
Sophie Ulquiorra Allen 2007-03-09 . chapter 27Good plot development so far, I am anxious to see how it ends. For me, I felt that in this particular chapter, the banter between Ribbentrop and Goebbels was a little too modern. While I did like the name-calling towards the end, it just didn't seem to fit in with the rest of the tone of the plot. |
Sophie Ulquiorra Allen 2007-03-09 . chapter 6Excellent story so far, intensely interesting. I love your characterization of Goebbels, you turning him into a sympathetic character makes this all the more entertaining. The flow to the story is also good, and I like the interactions between the different characters. |
Viresse430 2007-02-03 . chapter 1'Ello. I see that you have a new story up...interesting. WHERE'S MY UPDATE? Okay, I think that had to be done for the sake of my unfinished busines with your work. |
 AmbrosiusEmrys 2006-10-12 . chapter 29well written |
Qual 2006-05-19 . chapter 4 I just love that story. It's so well written ! Besides, I'm a great admirer of Rommel, so I'm just ecstatic he's not dead in that story. By the way, there's a movie called "the Desert Fox", about Rommel, which is very good.
I hope you keep on writing the sequel (Yes, I know I'm weird, but I read the sequel before reading that story... uh uh uh...) |
Balaurul 2006-03-20 . chapter 6 This is a fascinating story...
Interestingly enough, I just read a book entitled Luftwaffe Aces that includes an account of the same pilot who was supposed to transport Hitler, Eva Braun, and the Goebbels family out of Berlin. Bit weird, that! Will keep reading, just had to cut in with that review... |
Demona 2004-11-11 . chapter 14 I'm torn. I think the interactions between the characters and their families certainly shows them to be more realistic then the usual monster typecasts that we've grown used to. But at the sametime some of the scenes are a little too over the top for me to get into...However I have to say Chapter 14-15 were hilarious! The interaction with Goring and Ribbentrop on the plane just had me in tears I was laughing so hard. You had Goring so bang on! I hope to se more of these sorts of interactions in the second part of your tale.
Oh and thanks for keeping Rommel alive! *wistful sigh* |
Viresse430 2004-05-24 . chapter 3I said I would review after I read more, and I didn't get around to it immediately. Anyway, I love it, obviously, but I do have a question. Maybe you answered it in the reviews and I didn't notice, but are you going to have Doenitz or Keitel or anyone like that in the other parts? I dunno, I was just curious, and my friend reminded me this weekend. |
Viresse430 2004-05-17 . chapter 2You're a Nazi!! Sorry, you said not to, so I just couldn't help myself. Sounds like a good story so far, I'll have to read more. |
~*sparkli chick*~ 2004-04-24 . chapter 7 Are there still other people in Berlin? And where's Eva? Did she escape? *crosses fingers and hopes so*

Emilia J. Luthi 2004-02-10 . chapter 1I'm a bit too lazy to write each chapter a review (especially now that I've read them all...) so, I shall summarize. I LOVE your portrayals of all the characters. They're all absolutely fascinating and wonderfully written. Can't wait to see more of Heydrich, von Ribbentrop, Rommel, all of them! I also very much want to commend you for the obviously extensive amount of research you've done. That (for historic fics, anyway) and grammar/spelling (yours is considerably better than many native English-speaking writers on the site) are my personal pet peeves- nothing to complain about here. A fascinating idea and excellent characterization make for a wonderfully engaging story. Can't wait for the next installment of "Hours Before Dawn"! |
Shan'xara 2004-02-01 . chapter 29 So, finally the last part of the first part of the trilogy. What a sentence *lol*. So Rudolf holds everything in his hands - downfall or success... I really can't see, what he will do. And I wonder if it is true what he thinks about Bormann - who was curiously absent and missed by me during the last chapters *g*.
Well, I eagerly await the next part of your epic and compliment you on a very good first installment. |
Shan'xara 2004-02-01 . chapter 28 So Goebbels goes to Africa... Ups, this sentence reminds me of an old and very politically incorrect nursery rhyme... I wonder, what Rommel wants him to decide - and why the British allowed him to go. |
Shan'xara 2004-02-01 . chapter 27 Once more a great chapter. The discussion between Rommel, Goebbels and Ribbentrop made a lot of sense. I wondered a little, that Magda participated here like an equal - I always thought, that women weren't that important to those highranking Nazi-Officials.
An other - quite trivial criticism... I'm very sure, that smilies didn't appear before the 1970s - so Ribbentrop's shirt, though funny, is a little out of place. As well as his jeans - while such trousers did exist at that time, they definitely wouldn't be used by people of this rank...
The last sentence filled me with a lot of foreboding by the way... |
