Drowning in sweat

Salty on my face.

Cheeks flushed bright red

Face almost white.

Step left

Step right.

Ears aching

Legs so sore.

Concentration impossible

Head hurts to turn.

Almost finished

Almost done.

Arms start pumping

At a lightning-like pace.

Feet follow

With thunder's grace.

In once second it's over

Across the finish line.

Ready to burst into the stars

But I need to know my time.
