Hao minna! Yes, yes, I know that this is WAY overdue, but, hey. At least I got around to writing it, yes?
The final notes shall contain the following
- About the sidestories
- Notes about the original Blue Star
- Thank yous
Whichever sequel I'm going to write, I'll probably post it on March. Yeah. Summer break. I'm really really really busy right now. Sorry.
Next up, I want to share some things that you guys might find interesting.
Did you know that...
- Blue Star was originally written as a script. I mean a SCRIPT. With no in-depth character "analysis" within the episodes. Nada. It was just the dialogue, the fights (heck, even the fights were minimal) and... more dialogue. There was practically no narration. That's because I had originally intended this to be a manga, not a prose work. I didn't trust my narrative skills at that time.
- When Aiko arrived from training, she was supposed to act as if she had amnesia. I took that detail out because it seemed pointless, but it became a problem during the first switch of the twins, because Aiko's first "amnesia" was supposed to be an excuse for Mai's not knowing the Stars.
- Kamui was not supposed to see minors. EVER. (Or at least until he became a Star) In the original story, he only saw anything connected to the Elementals on the day that he met Haruna (and Kaori in the tree) for the first time.
- Kaji was not supposed to like Aiko at once ine Episode 2. In the original script, he only began to become attracted to her during the training. Aiko, though, thought that the "conceited, egotistical jerk" had gorgeous maroon eyes. Even if he was a jerk.
- Yuki wasn't supposed to be as cheerful as she was. Although Yuki still teased Kaji in the original story, she teased Kaji and only Kaji. Towards everyone else, she was originally pretty emotionless. Ice, really. But I started thinking: if Kaji had those moments when he was grumpy, then Yuki being emotionless won't be much help. So I added in a little smile and sunshine to Yuki's personality, while maintaining that calm, collected and reserved side of her.
- Originally, Hikaru knew nothing about the Elementals until he witnessed the fight at Kobayakawa with Sara. He was not supposed to have fought Kaori then. He was only supposed to see the fight and help using his kendo sword. Every encounter he had with Roses before that (in the current Blue Star story) was not supposed to happen.
- Mai was NOT supposed to meet Kamui at the carnival. Yes. That episode was not included in the manuscript. I didn't even plan on writing it until the very second I was actually typing it. I had no idea it was going to turn out so well.
- Yuuji was not supposed to be in love with Fuu. But he wasn't in love with Mai, either. Supposedly, Yuuji saw both girls as sisters, although he knew that Fuu was in love with him. Yuuji and Fuu weren't supposed to end up together (even if they did die in this current version). Sad, ne?
- The Hikaru-Yuki pairing wasn't even hinted at in the original story. Not in the slightest. So, therefore, Kumiko was not included in the original roster of characters.
-Kaji and Aiko were supposed to kiss WAY earlier, but I decided that it'd be better to delay it a bit. ... a LOT.
Yey! I think that's it. Everything else stayed the same, I think :) There were, of course, a LOT of other additions and changes, but pointing everything out would take forever.
OK. The last thing I'm going to do now is... Thank all you guys! Waaaaaah I love you guys SO much for reading the story to the end. With the huge number of stories out there, I'm so honored to know that people went to read my baby.
I want to especially thank my reviewers (in order of appearance): Edana, pinkpiggy, darkcobra, blueraindrop, brushfire, soujiroseta, blue tapir maggyd, beve, ink on paper, emibeth, bentfender, bluspirit, juzblue, ShadowGirl4ever, and Icey-Heart.
I want to thank those who wrote in-depth reviews. They help me a LOT in improving my writing. But ALL your reviews, short or long, are precious to me. You guys are what keeps me writing.
So now, this arc of Blue Star comes to a close. And I must say: it's been good.
