I have invited you to witness the deactivation of a child, letting you see the way a space angel is created. Your response is mandatory_

Prof. Alan Chen:
I will be there in a moment. Patience, my friend!
-Prof. Hizuki Yasahika
Professor Hizuki Yasahika soon arrived at the space angel headquarters. He ignored the furious secretary's bellows of rage, and walked towards Professor Alan Chen's office. He knocked on the door.
"Come in." Professor Yasahika opened the door and entered. Professor Chen paused his paperwork, and stood up. With a motion of his hand, he led Professor Yasahika down the hall. After they passed the last room in the section containing the eighteen-year-olds, they reached a door. Although it was only a door, it seemed to radiate darkness. The two professors either didn't notice this, or simply shrugged it off. The Chinese professor slid a card through the slot next to the door, which then parted. The two men entered.
The surgeon inside looked up.
"Hello, professors. Let me guide you to the operating room. This way."
The three men walked down yet another hall, this one with metal walls. The surgeon pulled off his right glove as they reached the door, and placed his palm on the identification device. The door slid open.
On the operating table lay a male of about sixteen years old.
"As you probably know, all space angels do not have 'souls'. Scientists, after many years of research, have found that this 'soul' spiritual groups preach of is merely a section of the brain. If this section is deactivated, then the person's eyes will not shine, nor will he or she laugh. In fact, the person will be void of all human emotions, making him or her the perfect defensive tool."
The surgeon walked over to a computer, and entered a couple commands. A holographic screen materialized. It showed a moving robot, which looked like a metal scorpion. It lurked around some gray matter, which was the boy's brain.
The surgeon pressed another key, and the robot moved towards the brain. First, with one of its claws, it injected some sort of fluid, most likely a numbing medicine, into the brain. The boy's back arched up. Then, he lay back down, twitching.
The robot carefully snipped at the thread-like material that kept that portion of the brain to the rest of the structure. Once the last thread was cut, the scorpion picked up the piece and headed out from the boy, emerging from his nose.
Professor Yasahika noticed that the piece was no larger than the fingernail of his pinkie. It only seemed large from the magnification.
"Isn't this... kind of... wrong?" the Japanese professor asked.
"What do you mean?" the surgeon replied.
"You're robbing children of their innocence!"
"Don't we need defense?" the Chinese professor interrupted.
"Yes, but..."
"Without this process, we would have no defense. That means we'd all, most likely, would be dead."
"End of conversation," Professor Chen declared. He and the surgeon walked towards the door. Professor Yasahika sneaked one last glance at the unconscious boy before following them out the door.
Thanks so much to Sephy and Whisper2theWater for reviewing! ^_^ Please review more! MOOOORRRE! Oh, and by the way, I haven't studied the brain yet, so if you have, and if I've said anything wrong, please inform me of it! Thank you!
