A/N this is a piece of Microfiction. In case you are unfamiliar with microfiction, it tells a story using just the bare minimum, it has a character, and problem, and a resolution, but no real descriptions, or sub plots, it's just straightforward, and very short.

"I don't understand why you're mad at me, I didn't do anything!" Mona Lewis yelled, exasperatedly.

"A 35 on a math test is hardly nothing!" Her mother countered.

"Well I didn't TRY to fail," Mona cried, " do you think I did?"

"Well you sure didn't try very hard not to fail!" Mrs. Lewis yelled back. "This is going to keep you off honor roll!"

Mona glared at her mother; "It is not. I failed one lousy test, that is not going to keep me off honor roll."

"It is not just one lousy test, it was a midterm!" Her mother screeched.

"Ok, so I failed one lousy midterm, I didn't try to fail it!"

"But you did, and that's why I'm upset!"

"Upset? Upset! You crossed the line between upset and angry a LONG time ago."

"Mona, I'm just trying to help you!"

"Well go help someone else!" Mona stormed out of the kitchen and thundered up the stairs into her room, slamming the door.

"Mona! Mona! Mona, come down here right now!" Her mother yelled up to the closed door.

"I can't hear you!" Mona's voice called back down. Mrs. Lewis continued shouting, but soon her voice was drowned out by her daughter's loud music.
