This is my original work and is just a short story I did for class last year. So, surprise, surprise, it's already finished. I'm going page by page and it's only a little different than the original copy. Just because it's finished doesn't mean I don't want your input. Please feel free to correct anything in this story. The title will make sense at the end. I promise.

Alicia tuned out the blasting hip-hop music. Most of the kids were on the other side of the stage working on the castle. Shawn was helping Alicia work on the Enchanted Forest. She smiled as Shawn showed off.

" Be careful. If you lose your balance you could hurt yourself." He was balancing on the edge of the stage on one foot. Alex was working on painting everything but the castle. The teachers had left to go to the bathroom.

" Hey good job Ally."

" Thanks Lauren. Not bad, you haven't gotten splattered yet." Just as Alicia said that, Lauren got a big glob of paint across the back of her shirt.

" Well, you lasted longer than some others." Ally called out as Lauren proceeded to chase Alex around the room. Shawn sat down just before he fell.

" I wonder when the teachers are going to get back." Sounded the prissy voice from Ashley's mouth. Ally was surprised when she had heard that Ashley was working on the scenery. You normally didn't catch a female prep working on anything other than the lead role.

" Like you care." Shawn muttered. He had finally picked up his paintbrush and started working on the forest. Five seconds later he was back at his balancing act.

" Be careful." Ally laughed out. As soon as she did, the lights cut out. The only thing you could hear was screaming and Shawn falling. Ally pulled a flashlight out of her bag and ran over to Shawn. He was moaning and grabbing his ankle.

" Everyone else okay? Just follow the flashlight. I have more in my bag." Ally jumped down to sit next to Shawn. " I told you to be careful." It was silent, almost too silent.

" What's going to happen to us?"

Meaghan was the only truly scared one right then. She flinched at her own shadow because her dad beat on her. Everyone heard the doors to the auditorium being flung open.

" Are you kids okay?!" Mrs. Wilks was freaked out. Of course, she usually was.

" We're fine but Shawn has a twisted ankle." Alex's soft voice projected at the best and worst times, causing him to get in trouble in class.

" It's just sprained." Shawn muttered.

" Well, let's get everyone into my classroom." She ushered us out of the auditorium while Mr. Carter and Mr. Johnson picked Shawn up and helped him limp into Mrs. Wilks classroom three doors down the hallway. Not one of the students or teachers noticed the windows.

" Okay. Everyone sure they're okay? Good." Mr. Carter never waited for an answer. " Now we are going to go find the janitor and see if there is a way to re-boost the electricity. Stay here." Ally handed them two of the little flashlights. Adam was staring at the windows as they left.

" Shouldn't there be more light coming through there?" he went to pull the blinds up. What he saw made him look just as scared as Meaghan was.

" What is it?"

" Snow. We're snowed in." he said quietly but it was like a sledgehammer to the rest of them.

" How? That's impossible!" Ashley yelled as she ran to pull up all the blinds.

" Never say impossible." Jamie and her twin brother were there with them. They were the resident witches and known widely around the school as the Davis twins.
