We messed up the way a nuclear family should be

You, me and the cat that’s our happy little family.

I’m going out drinking

You stay into watch TV.

What did you see in me?

What did you ever see in me?

You and me love our history

WW2 for you

And Egypt for me.

What in the world did you ever see in me?

You cook and clean the house from top to bottom

And for this under the cover me you have gotten.

I never sleep and you need constant naps every afternoon

What did you see in this shell of me?

Our friends are the same

The house is in my name

You go to France for your holidays

And I stay home gathering dust down bellow.

What did you see in this half real person that is me?

I see live and love and everything

I see dreams and heart and soul

I see music, light and galaxies

When I look into those darkened eyes.

You and me fall asleep in each other’s arms

Night after night

The cat curled up on my chest,

And you’re soft breath at the crook of my neck

Arms tight around my waist

And I wrote this song to tell you I never understood what made us this good.

But I thank who ever throw you my way every single damn day.
