I see the night behind me.

I see the day before me.

There is no light to guide my way.

To keep the dark at bay.

I wish you were here.

I wish to hold you near.

But you’re not with me this day

There is a deep hole

So very deep in my soul

I feel the pain.

The hurt is all in vain.

I let out a cry

And try to calm myself with a sigh.

I love you strong

Though you have been gone long.
