Note: I wrote this as an assignment for school but I kind of like this a lot so I decided to post it. It was supposed to reflect suspend (We were learning that in school at that point of time.) It’s just a short piece. Hope you guys like it!

The night was quiet and darker than usual. Cold air blew across her face, and she shivered, pulling her jacket closer. She tapped her feet continuously and kept glancing around. She was waiting for her friend to arrive.
The remote village, that she was in, was so eerie in nature that Janet jumped at the slightest sound and the slightest movement she detected from the corner of her eyes. Every few seconds or so, she would swirl around, expecting someone or something to pounce on her. She looked in all directions and glanced at her watch for the millionth time in the last one hour. She cursed under her breath, and began twirling her hair around her finger.
A wolf’s howl echoed through the night air. She jumped out of her skin, glancing frantically around her. Was a wolf nearby? Surely not right? Janet thought to herself, increasing the speed of her tapping as she started to panic. Another howl echoed through the night. Janet broke out in cold sweat, her palms were so damp that she had to wipe them on her jeans. She paced back and forth, back and forth so much that a track was almost made by her steps. She wanted to go home but she could not. She needed her friend to come, who was already an hour and a half hour late.
Suddenly, she saw something fly pass from the corner of her eye. “Was it a bat? Or was it… No it can not be…” Janet tried to calm herself down. She sang softly but all she was singing was the first two lines of ‘In the Beginning’, she somehow found it impossible to remember the rest of the song. She was frightened. Were there wild animals around?
She squinted her eyes to look to the distance but all she saw was the dark sky and the outline of the Giford Cliff. Her friend was nowhere to be found. A mist was threatening to settle where she was, she would soon not be able to see afar.
Janet tried to use her hands to clear the air but to no avail. The mist remained. She was extremely afraid. Tears sprang to her eyes and she screamed. However, even her own screams frightened her, so she stopped. She sank down to the ground, leaning against the old oak tree, and pulled her legs closer to her body. She shivered.
All of a sudden, unexpectedly a hand reached over her shoulders and tapped her on the shoulders. She shrieked and fainted.

THE END: yup, this is the end. No chap 2 or what-so-ever. It was only meant to show suspend remember? I don’t know if it sucked but it was not all that boring, right? Thanks for reading anyway :)
