O
Love
Could
Not be
Declared
By the two
Who dream
Of each other
He wished to hold
Her for all eyes to see
She wished to shout her
Love for him with her voice
Yet he can only hold her in his
Mind and she can only confess her
Love with her beating heart no one sees
They stand apart among their company yet
Aware of the people they see only each other
They speak without the voices that were silenced
By jealousy and bittersweet devotion he once held dear
His right hand tugged at his right earlobe proclaiming he can
Hear what she cannot say and his left hand tugged at his left ear
Knowing he dare not say what is left to be said when silence reigns
She smiled her sweet gesture in response to his ritual of adoration for her
Her left hand fist eclipsed her heart so no one could sense the directed drum
And the tip of her right pointer finger lightly tapped the tip of her nose because
She is on top of the world and one day she will be able to stand with him by her side
