Ghost Hawk
Ghosts are real; I can prove it because one saved me. Before you say I'm crazy, hear my story. It all began one very windy and stormy October night. My friends Mariah, Amy and Emily and I were at my house getting our Halloween costumes ready. Mariah was a witch, Amy was a vampire, Emily was a cheerleader and I was an angel. Did I mention that we were home alone?
"Amber, I really need some purple sequin trim to sew on the skirt of my costume," asked Emily, "Do you have some?"
"No. Unfortunately I don't have any," I replied, "But I know where to get some. I'll go buy it. Does anyone else want anything?"
"Nope," said Mariah.
"I'm good," Amy said. And so I sent off on a half an hour drive to Fabricland in my red mustang. I bought the sequin trim that Emily had requested and set off on the way home. As I was driving through a forested area of the road, I was stopped by a man that was waving his arms franticly up and down at me. He was wearing all black. I stopped and the man walked toward me. By now it was raining cats and dogs. I rolled down my window so he could talk to me. To my surprise and horror, he pulled a gun on me!
"Get out and give me the car," he snarled as he pointed the gun at me. I got out of the car as he sped off. I was forced to walk at least two more miles in pouring rain. I started the long, wet, cold walk home. As I walked through the wooded road, no cars came. So I decided to sit on a wet tree stump that rested at the side of the road. I had started to cry when something caught my eye. It was a shadowy version of a hawk. It let out a shriek and flew off. I don't know what compelled me to follow it. The hawk lead me through a heavily wooded area, away from the road. As we came out of the wood, we approached a large field. Across the field was my house! I ran toward it and reached the front door. Mariah opened it and the girls helped me inside. I found out that the hawk that saved me was called the Ghost Hawk and it was a myth around here. The next day I went to the police station to file a police report. Two days later my car was found in a parking lot of a mall and the thief was apprehended. To this day, the Ghost Hawk has helped many others like it helped me and I will never forget it.
