Chapter 1 - Thinking of Him
Love is like the wind. You can't see it, you can't hear it. But you know it's there.
I've always been told that and I've always believed it. But is that really true? Is love always really there and do you know when it is? I found out the truth throughout my lifetime. Here is my story.
My name is Hallie Winters. I'm 5'6, 110 pounds, blonde hair, sparkly green eyes, and a nice smile in my parent's opinion. I attend Lakeview High School, I'm an honor student, and I'm co-captain of the cheerleading squad. Cheerleading is my favorite thing to do besides hang out with my friends.
I'm not like most cheerleaders. I don't sit at the "popular table" or go to parties and get drunk on the weekends. Instead, I have a small group of friends that I've known most of my life. Kasey, Carter, Emily, Michelle, Alexis, Jordan and Landon. We'd all went to pre-school together and became friends. We just clicked, it was as simple as that.
All of my friends were awesome but one especially stood out. We'd known each other since we were babies and we'd always been best friends and we still were. It wasn't a girl, like many people would think. It was Jordan.
Jordan Landry. He'd always been there for me and helped me through the hardest times. He was a really great person that I totally admired. Maybe even loved...no, not loved. Just admired...I think.
Anyway, here I am. A fifteen-year-old sophomore, turning sixteen next month, and still never been kissed. I haven't had many exciting things to happen in my fifteen years here on Earth. Oh well, that's life I guess. I'd experience lots of things soon enough.
Okay, enough of that. Now, back to the present.
As I sat on my bed on Friday, after school, listening to Linkin Park and reading the newest Seventeen magazine, I thought more and more about Jordan.
We'd been friends for a long time and could trust each other with anything. He was a really awesome guy that I'd found myself thinking about more often lately, but we were just friends.
Gosh, life was so confusing sometimes! I tried to think about the next day and what I was going to do, or wasn't going to do in this case. My friends and I didn't have anything planned. Maybe I'd just stay home and watch a movie or something.
Mid-thought, I was interrupted by the telephone. I turned my music down a little and reached for my purple, cordless telephone. Pressing the talk button, I sat up on my bed, and began the conversation.
"Hello?"

Btw, this story has been inspired by the quote from "A Walk To Remember" where it's said something like "Love is like the wind. You can't see it, you can't feel it, but you know it's there." But you can feel the wind so I changed it around a little. Just had to mention that!
