On the edge of imagination

9/28/2002

I saw alight in the skies one day,

a cacophony of colors and shades,

a symphony of rhythm and harmony,

blending softly as they fade;

I saw alive in the heavens that day

a sight unknown to mortal man,

a realization that has yet to find its way,

a junction of water and land;

For upon the reaches of life uncharted

lies the realm of the wily mind,

where all the known is forgotten,

and a meaning there is yet to find;

And within a world so vastly wild,

so irrevocably transformed,

there still exists the bitter and mild,

the tattered and the torn;

All thoughts concealed and emotions hid

are revealed in the depths of the mind,

and the truth of all humanity

lies in the resistance of our kind;

O heaven sent wonders of secrets revealed,

how they lead our souls astray!

how easily we soon all turn aside,

and abandon our noble ways!

It is with sour tears of grief

that I come to see my world,

its epic of imagined reality,

its saga of endless toil;

And upon the sinking shades of red,

I might ask of one

why I live a life of imagination,

why I fear the face of the sun...
