In the shadows

In the darkness,
‘Round the corner,
‘Neath the street-light,
Near the door.
Shadows lurk and
Evils wander,
Claiming victims,
Ever more.

Sleep in daylight,
Nightly venture.
It's blood you seek,
Eternalized.
Bare your fangs and
Seize your prey
Again once more
Immortalized.

Desires call,
The night is young,
And mortal fools
Exceeding but
When day is new
And light is found
You'll find yourself
Retreating

Condemned forever
To this life,
A hell
Of all its own.
Your misery
And suffering
Dooms you
All alone

It's live or die,
The choice you make,
A fate that
You can change.
To be a martyr
For the light,
Or a part of darkness
Just the same.

So in the end
When blood goes black
And eyes have
Turned to stone
You cannot blame
Another
For the fault
Is all your Own
