Chapter 12

            “Hey, how ya feeling?” Alexia asked Shane as he finally woken up after two days unconscious in a hospital.

            “What happened?” Shane asked, “the last thing I remember is James saying we had to meet you somewhere because you were in trouble.”

            “James turned out to be a bad man,” Alexia took Shane’s hand, “we‘re never going to see him again, you know that don‘t you?”

            “I figured as much. Everyone leaves us sooner or later,” Shane said sadly.

            Alexia was just about to reply but Adam came walking in. “Hey,” he said quietly.

            “Hey,” she replied back.

            Shane giggled and looked at one from another. “You two should really go outside and talk. And when you come back we can be introduced.”

            Alexia laughed and stepped outside, with Adam behind her.

            “So…you‘re a vampire too, but you have a soul?” Alexia remembered her previous conversation with him.

            “Basically. You see, I wasn‘t always this nice. A long time ago. Around the sixteen hundreds, I was about as evil as you get. Always enjoying my kill. And back then James was the nice one, the normal one. Always hating to go hunting. But when my mother was killed by my father, James went ballistic. And James took revenge on my father and killed him too. And apparently James wanted to get rid of all of his family members because he gave me a soul. I think he thought that it would destroy me, but here I am. ”

            “Wow, what a loving family. Why‘d he pick me to become his vampire girlfriend or whatever?” Alexia asked.

            Adam shrugged, “looks like he‘ll be the only one to ever know.”

            “So are you going back to England?”

            “I don’t think so. I like it here. And I can always take James’ apartment,” Adam joked.

            Alexia smiled, “well, come on. I have some introductions to make.”
