This is a rather unique style of poetry for me...a little more freeform, I think, and longer than usual...some seriously odd stuff too. Don't ask me where it came from...guess being without power and water in a storm for like, two days does strange things to the ol' mind. =^_~=

Stay the Same
LH-chan '02

Clock of time,
ticking, tocking.
Talking,
what the people do
as they're walking
down paths of life.
Themselves,
they're mocking.

Relationships, crumbling.
Words,
over lips are tumbling.

Run away.
They chase me.
Sit back
and pace me.

Suddenly,
my mind grows quiet.
Better for all,
I won't deny it.

Power's out.
I'm not complaining.
Sun is high.
Moon is waning.

All around,
the voices
rumbling.
General,
discontented,
mumbling.
And though the world,
around,
is crumbling.

I just stay the same.
