Smoke or Water
Smoke clouds my mind, trapping it
Blinding me as if an a squall of wind
Yet relaxing, my anger and confusion
Water, cold and bitter, cuts into me
Falling in a frenzy from the dark clouds
Blocking all feeling off, from the world
Smoke swirls around, enticing me to join
And disappear with it, far away
From all the problems of this soul of mine
Water holds my hand, leading me away
Telling me lies to fill my mind with
Eroding all cares and desires for myself
Smoke and water, harsh yet pleasurable
Arguing back and forth for ownership
Of my body and my soul, smoke or water
