A/N: it's been way too long since I wrote poetry, I forgot how much fun it could be...

JUNCTURE by Haein

It was dark, calm, cool in the outside wind
But inside the lights were shining
Bright as the noon-day sun,
Tinny music blared trumpets loudly,
And the idiot box danced its colors
In front of all the hypnotized eyes
The whole family (minus one) watched, but
She, alone, sat in a private kind of absorption
That blanked out the noise and unrest
Better than any wooden walls could have
Her face glowed pale with reflected light
(And perhaps something else as well)
Oh, she was not in the same room as them
Not even the same city, she was
Flying, slipping, sliding, racing
Somewhere in between the numbers in her mind
And the letters on the screen
For once it seemed, yes it really did
It seemed that anything could be possible
Here, it seemed was a whole new means,
An original, fresh way to be, be, be
