Self-esteem runs low in this town.
The people search for a bigger meaning,
But fail in the end.
White picket fence families, and hidden problems.
You don’t talk,
You don’t say you are less than perfect.
Pearls of wisdom look away.
The tears they cry never get heard except by a figure they don’t know.
Go to church on Sunday, and hide behind the façade.
Round here we look for a deeper meaning,
And we dream dreams that won’t come true.
It’s a small world,
It’s a small town,
It’s my life,
And it’s yours too.
It’s…round here.
Fade into the light,
Fade into the small group.
Fade into the white picket fence, and the hidden fights and tears.
It’s an image,
It’s your world.
Kids dream about being the people on the big screen.
Life has a pace,
Life has no purpose.
That’s the picket fence of life,
That’s me,
That’s you,
That’s…round here.
