contradiction

i am simply a contradiction
to the current belief system
of the society you hide in
the society i challenge but reside in
young but mature, white with pride
but not with tendencies
to be characterized by your stereotypes
of who i should be
a young woman with depth but also grace
that coincides
continuously with charism and charm
beautiful and tough
strength to disarm not necessarily
most men but enough...
why is this the exception?
shouldn't this be the expectation?
or will it continue to be one dimension
that was once mentioned
another unfathomable in your fallacies
for it's impossible to be
sexual and sensual
casual in mannerisms and deep in thought
impossible to have respect for who you are
and challenge what you're taught
it contradicts the norm
for someone to have a sense of history
in order not to move so blindly
through social circles where words are so easily bought
it's impossible to be beautiful and soulful
and intelligent, when you're caught
society induces an ignorance making you fail to realize
that people are not meant to be categorized
is it so impossible to have a mutual love for all things classical
and jazz and hip hop and blues
or are those just your truths?
cause i personally prefer alternative and rock
mixed with a little outkast and pac
nah...it's not impossible, just not commonly thought
but not entirely uncommon once people start to talk
