When you see the ground
When you’re flying
It looks so different
Than when your standing on it
Feeling it firm beneath your feet
Solid, unmoving
The rock on which your whole life is built.
When you stand on it,
It shelters you,
Hides all things beyond your sight
Holds you close and dear
And never lets you see beyond what is
To what might be
When you fly,
So high, so far above it
It does not seem to matter much
It’s a map to get your bearings
A guide to show you where to land
On the ground, all things are as they are
In the sky, you see all things as they should be
Wide open and free
Can you breathe when the ground is so close?
