If you ask a child what he is thankful for, he will most likely answer with the typical: parents, toys, pets, and McDonalds. When you ask an adult what he is thankful for, he might say his job, his money, or his bed. These are all the usual answers that you hear. A good thing happened to you, or the things that keep you going in life: these are certainly things that we should all be thankful for.
But there are unconventional things that we need to thank God for as well. These things range from plants that supply our oxygen to our toes, which keep us from falling over. I thank God for all the normal things every day; I'm grateful to have them. However, I also thank God for things like books and movies for entertainment, a ghost in my room, and our church. I thank God that He gives me obstacles in my life, so that I won't be bored as I float along in a perfect existence. Oh yeah, and I thank God for turkey, because without it, we might eat only yams at Thanksgiving dinner.
