The Gold Coin Prologue

It all began in the early hours of the morning of December the fifth, 13069, on a small planet called Earth. A pair of twins were born to a young woman, her given name being Kristine Myers, but her God name was Keri Rotinu, the goddess of the stars. Neither she, nor her husband Landon Myers (Bryan Yuhne, god of the planets) had read the old tablets since their school years. They hadn't remembered that it said that when the goddess of the stars and the god of the planets were wed, precisely three years afterwards, a single pair of male twins would be born to them. However, that was not the problem. The twin's god names were. The oldest and the most deadly was to be Draco Undefi - god of destruction and pain. The second and savior of the people was to be Lucius Fedali - god of men and keeper of peace.

Kristine had their given names all planned out - Tony and Troy Myers. Tony would be the firstborn and Troy the youngest. Landon had agreed without argument, of course. He had always hated arguments, and would continue to up until the day of his death, the day Tony Myers became Draco Undefi and murdered his father in cold blood.

Everything went perfect up until Kristine looked at the doctor, smiling wide, and asked what their God names were. The doctor, Michael Interof, a short balding man, who had been doing this for thousands of years, tried to avoid it, talking instead to the pretty, young nurse at his right. But Kristine was persistent and finally, Dr. Interof met her green eyes with his cobalt blue ones and told her, "Ma'am your boys are Draco Undefi and Lucius Fedali." She had tried to argue; saying it couldn't be true! Dr. Interof simply told her they had checked the charts three times and there was no mistake.

The twins grew up quickly into cute children and soon became curios about their God names. "Everyone at school has one!" Tony kept repeating. Troy, the quiet one didn't usually speak up about it. He'd just stand there and look up at her, his emerald eyes fixed on her, as if silently asking her.

One day, she gave in and watched as their eyes went wide. They had heard what was to happen in their future. They began to grow apart. Troy would hardly ever speak to his brother anymore and when questioned about it he'd only respond with, "I can't kill Tony. I just can't!" Tony, on the other hand, took it as a gift. He began bragging and doing stupid things, getting expelled from one school after another.

Their fourteenth birthdays arrived soon and as the tablets went, they were to take their God names now. While other children were goofing off and partying, they were preparing for their destinies. Tony had been reading up on his fate and he found he was immortal at the hands of everyone but his brother and himself. He began using that to his advantage, doing all sorts of idiotic stunts to prove he couldn't die.

Both boys had to learn magic between ages fourteen and sixteen. They caught on fast and mastered most spells and in Tony's case, curses. They both changed their appearances, tiring of looking alike, or just striving to achieve the perfection he reputedly had. Tony did not alter his light blonde hair, only his green eyes, which he changed to a steel gray. Troy changed only his hair color, giving himself a head full of black spikes.

On their sixteenth birthday, Tony denied his name and family, choosing the name Draco Undefi instead of Tony Myers, "a bloody mortal name," he scoffed. His father angered him that night, refusing to buy him a car, and Draco, in his rage, murdered him, while Troy watched from the shadows. Troy may not have been able to kill his brother, but after witnessing Draco kill their father, who had always done all he could for them, he vowed that Lucius Fedali could kill Draco Undefi. He chose his God name now, telling his mother that he was sorry, but he had to do it. He had to choose his destiny. He could not let Draco gain control of the world.

That night was the last night they ever saw their home and that was the last time they saw each other, for the next twenty years.
