Once in the Long Ago

By: Difinity

Once in the long ago,

The sun would shine down on me.

But what about now?

Hasn't it heard my plea?

Once in the long ago,

I had found such a love.

But it has destroyed my soul,

He was not sent from above.

Once in the long ago,

I knew who I was.

But as I look in the mirror,

My memory is nothing but fuzz.

Once in the long ago,

I shed no tears.

But now I cry so much,

The universe has heard my fears.

Once in the long ago,

My heart had felt so dry

But now,

It can touch the sky.

Once in the long ago,

I gave much for charity

But as I look back now

They are all broken memories.

Once in the long ago,

My life seemed but a mile

But as I look in the mirror

I see myself smile.

Once in the long ago.
