Nightly Freedom

Paws dancing across the twilight,
Fur glistening in the moonlight.
Freedom of the dark,
Its journeys I embark.
Many miles I can cover,
Shadows embracing me like a lost lover.
Only then am I truly free,
To dance, sing, and laugh with glee.
The rise of dawn an approaching dread,
Ending my freedom with a sky of red.
Waiting again for the night,
When I can be unbound from the light!
