She entered the dark room taking with her all the bad and the good intentions one person could have, not caring to make sure whether it was really him asleep on the bed. She was sure. She took her time to let her eyes adjust to the darkness before she took another step. There was plenty of time.

She watched him. He was a child. She knew how sometimes life was difficult for him, his friends teasing him all the time, not only because he was so small, but also because he looked a lot like a girl. She knew it. She watched him closely, she was around. They never spoke.

He was so fragile, one would want to hold him and protect him from this evil world. But he was strong at the same time. He had the courage to keep on with what he liked, no matter everyone said he was feminine because of his long hair. That was not a true thing, besides. He wouldn’t be more male if he cut it. It was not the hair, it was the face.

And now he was asleep, she looked at him and wondered. She was amazed by him. She had always been. She didn’t know exactly what she was doing there at that moment. She’d come in full of intentions and now she was afraid to move, to breathe, for she might wake him and spoil this moment which was not what she had wanted to make it when she came in.

She might not do anything, had not yet decided whether she would do what was planned. She might just look at him some more and leave. He would never know. It would have been worthless and still so precious. When would she get another chance to look at him this way, this close, not fearing anything, just being able to look at him for as long as she wanted to... Letting time go on, slowly as time does at night when all is calm and silent.

Then maybe the passing time would spare some moments to tell her what, just what was it that she loved so much about him as she observed him, tried to see and keep in her mind every little detail of his beautiful face. He was like magnetic to her, and this magnetism made her want more and more what she had wanted to do to him this day, as usual she felt something always drawing her close to him, but that not an easy choice, to do or not to do...

It mesmerised her. How was it possible for a being, a human being, to look at the same time male and female! Like an angel. Sexless. She felt she’d finally found out something that had always been there for her. And in comparing him for the first time to an angel, it helped her to make her choice.
