Leopards of the Snow

watching from pale white drifts.

Frosty eyes...

watching others unobserved.

Shying away from contact;

aloof.

Proud.

A sight to behold.

A darting in the snow.

A snow leopard?

Or only...

a shadow?

Sightings treasured.

Pictures cherished.

A touch...

remembered always.

White fur becoming

one with the surroundings.

Broad paws

running over ice.

Black spots,

white fur;

yin and

yang.

In the end...

are they leopards of the snow?

Or are they

leopards _made_ of snow?
