Living 12 years in Wisconsin, Cameron has had spreading rumors follow him on every turn.  An angry father, a helpless mother, and the gossipers of Ashville keep Cameron locked away from society...until he meets Chance Bridges. Slash

A/N: I’ve had this idea in my head for quite some time. I always have some nagging voice in my head, don’t I? My big break from ‘Crimson Fade’ has given me some time to think. Feedback is appreciated.

Prologue

A variety of shades of leaves had started to make its formation on the oak trees that lined the deserted farmland of Wisconsin.  The winds’ harsh blows gave the lonely streets an elegant look, the trees swaying in the same rhythm and motion.  Ashville was a quiet area, having one residential occupant one mile apart from another.  The distances kept many from conversing, and that was the way they wanted it.  This kept everyone at peace, no conflict or vendettas with others.

Only one home had ownership to the big farm that took major part in the economy of Ashville.  The grand man himself kept his distance from the neighborhood.  He was known for his abundant riches in vegetables and fruits.  He was also known for his secrecy.  No one ever came across the man, not knowing if he was a fat bearded lad, or a scrawny ragged looker.  Everyone knew of his wife.  She was a beautiful blonde at the age of 35, who made sure to greet everyone that passed.  Their house took a great part of the farmland, over 280,000 acres.  The wife was always seen watering the flowers on their front porch.

Today was a different day.  The wife was not out sweeping the porch.  Both of their shiny cars were out of the driveway.  This caused confusion among the people of Ashville.  The wife was known to never leave the house.  Rumors spread.

“I hear the Lady Bridges was caught stealing from the old mans’ stash.”  An old woman with light brown locks said calmly.

“Oh posh! Stealing? She was caught with one of their workers!” Another haggard brunette shrieked.

“Posh my ass! You’re both idiots!” A dark haired middle-aged woman stood up, glaring fiercely, “They went to pick their son up from the airport.  He just came back from Military Academy.”

“Military? They have a son?” The light brown haired woman quipped.

“Why do I even bother blabbering with you two?” The younger woman made her way to the stove, checking on her tea.

“Well, I was just asking. “

“Ingrid dear. Do listen more. You gossip too much.”

“I’ll try, Belle.” Ingrid said smiling.

“Damn you all to hell!” A young boy of the age of 17 screamed.  He was loading a box of apples into his father’s beat-up ford, only to slip, with apples flying about.  He stood up quickly, flustering about as the apples rolled around underneath him.  Growling angrily, he began to pick up the apples one by one.

“What did you do, boy?” A rugged voice sounded, then a bulking load of fat appeared.  His father stood above him, hands on both hips.

            “I slipped.” The boy whispered.

            “Really?”

            “Really.”

“Get your ass in gear. I have to get this shipment out early.” The father turned and went to his truck.  He patted the hood lovingly.

“I’m done.” The young boy said, trying his best to keep his composure straight.

“Good boy.  Now get in the house.  You hear me, boy?” The man looked back at the boy, “Cameron?”

“I hear you.” The boy walked his way back to his house.  He stood on the front porch to watch his father peel out of the dirt-ridden driveway.  “I hear you.”

A/N: Well…tell me what you think?
