A Pause in Time
By Lady E

Author's Notes: Text format works better. Thanks to the reviewers!

There's a pause in time
As the sun begins to set
Its downward curve
Bringing darkness thick as a net

Absolute silence
Rings in the air
The sound so deafening
Too loud to bear

There's naught a movement
No sign of life
A hesitation in activity
A moment's end to the day's strife

Hardly a breeze
The air so still
Everything at ease
Everything quiet until,

It ends.
The sun's gone from sight
The darkness prevails over light
There's only a moment's pause in time

Thanks for reading!
