One of two lines of this poem randomly popped into my head, so I wrote them
down. Later that day, as I was falling asleep, I thought of a whole
stanza. (My muse must have been visiting, hehehe) So I got out of bed and
composed the poem. It's sort of free-verse and there's a semi-standard
rhyme scheme. It feels so strange to be writing optimistic poetry. I'm
definitely not used to it! Well, I hope you like it, please review,
whether you liked it or not. As always flames are accepted.
DAMNED
She's lying alone in a bed for two
Damned by those she thought had cared
She can't even see beyond the lies
Hoping that something precious was shared
Each time she thinks she's happy, she's wrong
They just keep leaving, just keep lying
Such cruel torture she's had to endure
And with no one true, she's always crying
She swears they'll be sorry
She swears they will pay
The swears keep her going
For just one more day
Her prayers were never answered
Her swears never seen through
She's gone without revenge
It's something she can't do
Her heart's too pure for such cruel vengeance
She forgives and forgets every single night
She's lost the will to live
She's no reason left to fight
Her spirit's weary more and more
Cold and tired, she's lying alone
Her heart's been broken for the very last time
She'll wake no more, she's finally gone
Each one was the same but she couldn't see that
Raised up and dropped down, that's how the cycle goes
They said they loved her then left her damned
Damned to hell, they'd willingly chose
But now she's gone and free at last
Raised up on seraph's wings she flies
She lived a good life and her reward has come
A life of joy awaits in the skies
Each day she swore that things would be better
Yet they continues to prove her wrong for hoping
Not once did she ever lose faith of hope
'Things will be better' so she kept on coping
And now she's rewarded in heaven you see
Things are finally right as she said they'd be
She's found that only in heaven they care
But only faith and hope can get you there
