A/N: This goes out to my dad and Jessica. Oh, and of course, Nicole. :o)

Seven handpainted

miniature

handheld

ornately crafted

dolls

figurines

sit on the

dresser

each smiling

at me

having finally

found their place

in a two story house

at the edge

the brink

of nowhere

They stand

still

seven in a row

blue eyes unblinking,

blond hair unwavering

cheeks flushed

eyes bright and glowing

lips that smile at me still

even when

bad times are

hitting us

The biggest one

is the one

that wavers

me the

most

To have them

standing

there

and smiling

as if nothing were

wrong

is unnerving

but yet is a

comfort

knowing that

as long as they're

here

my soul

would

be

quietly

soothing

me.
