Day 1 (Sept 4, 2002)
"Today is the first day of the rest of your life." That's what my mom
told me this morning. I guess she makes sense, although she is a little
strange. But aren't all mothers?
My name is Blade Harrison. I know you probably don't care, in fact,
I'm positive you don't. But my mother, as one of her great projects to
screw up my life, insists that I keep a journal. She says that one day,
in the far future, I will read this journal, and thank her for making
me keep a record of my sophomore year. That it will provide me with a
"window" to my past. That it will become a valuable keepsake in my old
age, to remember what my life was like so long before. Honestly, I
can't imagine ever wanting to remember my fifteen-year-old self, but I
guess it's worth a shot. After all, it won't kill me, and as long as it
keeps her happy...
Well, as you already know, I am fifteen years old, and I just started
my sophomore year. I have short, dark red hair, and green eyes, and I'm
tall, about 5'7". I don't have a lot of friends, and I don't
particularly like school. Most of my classmates don't even know I
exist.
I do have one true friend, Melanie Childeress. She's the only person in
the world who knows the true me, the only person in the world I truly
care about. She has long, blonde hair, gray eyes, glasses, and braces.
She's a little different, but who am I to talk?
I also have two little sisters, Valerie, 12, and Kimberlee, 13, and a
little brother, Luke, who's 9. Val is a lot like me, smart and quiet,
and doesn't really care about anything, but Kimberlee is way different.
She's involved in almost every sport imaginable, and she's enthusiastic
about everything. She's already in volleyball, and I am forced (By my
mom, no less. -_- Typical.)to go to each of her games. Not
surprisingly, I'm one of the only people my age who goes, besides James
Landon, who's way different than me. His sister, Diana, plays. I guess
he's pretty decent-looking, with short blonde hair, blue eyes, and
glasses. I've never actually spoken to him, but he seems nice, and I
suppose that next game, I'll try to talk to him. Maybe.
I guess that by now, your wondering about my father, since I've already
mentioned my mom and three siblings. Well, he left a long time ago. I
don't really remember him, just a few memories is all. Mom doesn't like
to talk about him much, and I don't ask.
Also, my schedule for school is:
1. Earth Science
2. English
3. Alg. II
4. Child Development
5. Spanish II
6. World History
7. Driver's Ed
Mel's in 4 of my seven classes,Driver's Ed, Algebra 2, World History
and English, and James is in my Spanish class. For some strange reason,
our English teacher, Mr. Stanford, is so dumb that he actually lets me
sit by Mel! What a nerd.
Well, I guess that's all for now. I'll write again tomorrow.
Goodnight,
Blade
