Moon

As I close my window,

Upon the freezing night,

I just pause as I glimpse,

A brilliant ball of light,

Reflected in a pool,

The ever-shining orb,

An illusion to fool,

The eye that stares in awe--

For it looks as if near,

And smaller than a pearl,

When it’s lightyears from here,

Nearly large as our world.

As I stare in wonder

Up at the glowing sphere,

I feel as if under

A heav’n not far from here.
