A/N: And here we go again with the poetry. I’ve decided to start a series of random, short poetry works, just for when I can’t think of what to write with my stories but have the urge to write. I’m not sure how long this will be, but I hope to get some feedback from it. Hopefully positive feedback.

I’m going to give it a go with rhyming, so don’t be surprised if it starts to sound real cheesey. You have to start somewhere ^_~ Please review and tell me what you think. Constructive criticism is greatly appreciated!

From Ashes

Division One: Hush, My Baby

Today I am just like before

Your bitter voice sings sweet accord

Your mocking tone and derided laugh

I’ve yet to face your crimsoned wrath

Tear-stained cheeks slapped ruby red

I remembered every word you said

Quivering heart with fearful eyes

Ears were pierced in deceitful lies

Hush, my baby, do not speak a word

Even your cries cannot be heard

Close your eyes and go to sleep

The pain will end when stabbed too deep

Your intentions were pure and crystal clear

Reflecting my eyes through broken mirrors

I wanted to get myself out of all this

Tainted red with your seasoned kiss

The fire flickers inside my hands

Clamped shut, burned out with endless demand

I tried to ignore your failed concerned

Because all I desired was to see you burn

Hush, my baby, do not speak a word

Even your cries cannot be heard

Close your eyes and go to sleep

The pain will end when stabbed too deep

Today you said I screwed up again

You claimed I wasn’t paying attention

Preoccupied with haunting thoughts

Pulled my nerves in tighter knots

Grabbing my arm, you were in control

Myself unable to free your soul

Torment continued for so many years

Making me cry my million tears

Hush, my baby, do not speak a word

Even your cries cannot be heard

Close your eyes and go to sleep

The pain will end when stabbed too deep

All I wanted was for you to love me

Whenever I fell, I saw you above me

I’d lost all sense of your tranquility

Feeling damned for all eternity

All you asked was to be forgiven

Save your place in blissful Heaven

But again that night I wished for you death

To watch you struggle with your last breath

Hush, my baby, do not speak a word

Even your cries cannot be heard

The pain will end when stabbed too deep

I always thought you were my angel

Soul purpose in life to keep my vigil

Everything I ever had was torn and hung

You’d laugh and claim I was too young

I cannot change the way you feel

The stinging sense was so surreal

But now, my dear, you’ll never know

The tears I cry will never show

Hush, my baby, do not speak a word

Even your cries cannot be heard

Close your eyes and go to sleep

The pain will end when stabbed too deep

For all the tears that I have cried

Will suck right back into my eyes
