One Good Turn

I've heard the climax of a story be defined as the time in which the main character's fate is sealed.

In the very short tale of my life, I've reached that climax now.

If I had my choice, the climax of my life would be more dramatic, with trumpets and people honoring me. But if there's one moral to my story, it's that life will screw you over whenever it has a chance. There are no trumpets now, just the continuing drum-roll of rain tapping against my ugly yellow rain jacket.

My surroundings are beautiful, suitable for a climactic event in my life. Though Nature's pristine backdrop is muted by rain, I wonder at the amazing height and glory that these pine trees grow to.

If only I could grow to such a height.

A light appears in the forest. I know that it's Her. She's coming to get me at last. I've been waiting for this for a very, VERY long time now. In a weird way, I've been longing for the day She would come and pass judgment upon me. She steps out of the orb of light, Her twisted servants following Her in a ghastly train.

She steps forwards, I close my eyes and await the inevitable.

~*One good turn deserves another.*~ ~**One good turn deserves my dying.**~

Authors Note: Inspired by the song Bother by Stone Sour, which at one point the lyrics say: "One good turn deserves my dying." This line will be repeated throughout the story. However, this is the only line that will be used, so I am not using this as a songfic. Just a note. Download that song, also. Trust me.
