Brian rolled his eyes and wondered when his teacher would ever stop caring whether he did his homework or not. Zoe giggled and shook her head. She was the only one in the group who managed to maintain her life and do homework. Brooke, combed her long blonde hair with her fingers and showed her homework to the teacher as she walked by, flashing a grin at Brian. Scott, the geek, had again forgotten his homework and apologized a million times. Adam blushed and held out his homework for the teacher to see and Caitlyn quickly searched for her homework and found it just in time.
The group of friends were all sitting together at a group of desks near the back of the class room. The teacher began to babble and the group started to pass notes that held their plans.
'We have to go tonight!' Zoe wrote.
'I know! My dad's yelling is getting to me!' Brian wrote back.
'HAH! What a joke! Nothing gets to you Bri.' Caitlyn wrote, joining the conversation.
"Quit passing notes! I'm trying to give a lecture here!" the teacher yelled making her face go red. Scott shook a finger at the rest of them and Brooke continued staring out of the window.

After school, Zoe rounded up the group.
"So, we meet each other by the welcome sign at 11:00 tonight, OK?" she asked, making sure with the rest of her friends.
They all nodded and left to go home. Zoe looked around the school, silently saying goodbye, because tonight at 11:00 they were running away.

Brooke's little brother banged on her door, screaming and yelling.
"Stay out!" she yelled.
The little brother, not listening to his older sister, barged into the room and continued screaming.
"I said, stay out!" Brooke yelled again.
The four year old blonde boy began to cry and ran down to his mom to tell on Brooke.
'Oh no,' she thought, 'I'm in trouble again.'

Scott sat at him computer and looked around suspiciously. After seeing that no one else was in the room with him he began hacking into a military computer.
'Wow!' he thought, 'I wanna go to this place! It sounds like area 51!'
He quickly printed out some information and deleted all evidence of him ever being on the computer down to his finger prints.

Adam was sitting watching TV and munching on some chips when his mom got home. The first thing she did when she got in was yell at him because he didn't put his shoes in the closet.
"Sorry mom," he said, turning off the TV and running over to put them away.
"And what about homework? Aren’t you supposed to be doing homework?"

Caitlyn sat at home alone, shivering and wondering what to do. She held onto the TV remote, but she knew her dad would beat her if he came home and she was watching TV.
'Oh well,' she thought, 'since when do I care?'
She clicked the on button and relaxed, but a few minutes later her drunk father came crashing through the front door.

Brian sat in his room staring at his posters and trying to do nothing wrong. He couldn't keep his mind off what he was going to do that night. So he picked up his math textbook.
'I hate homework,' he told himself, as he began doing the questions. He convined himself that he didn't have to go with his friends that night so he might as well be ready to go to school.
"Wow! Doing homework! Good boy!" his mom said, peeking into his room and immediately leaving. Brian sighed.
'What am I doing? Of course I'm going with my friends!'

Zoe sat in her room on the floor hoping her dad would just forget about her today. She winced as she heard the door slam.
"Zoe!" her dad yelled, obviously not having a good day. She started to cry as he bounded up the stairs and opened her door. She looked up at him and he looked down at her with a look of rage on his face. He stormed over to her and picked her up off the floor only to throw her back down.

At 11:00 sharp Zoe arrived at the welcome sign. The welcome sign, as they called it, was the sign that welcomed people to their city. Zoe kicked the sign and kept an eye out for her friends. Of course they were late. She looked at her watch and quickly looked up to see where the sound of footsteps were coming from. It was Brian.
"Hey," he said to her.
"Hi. I hope everyone else can make it here in the next few minutes. I'm beginning to feel conspicuous!"
He grinned and stuck his hands in his black leather jacket. Soon everyone else arrived and they began the process of deciding where to go.
"I have a place that looks cool!" Scott said waving a piece of paper around. Adam, who was standing behind him, grabbed it and read it.
"Damn street lights," he muttered as he squinted to make out the words.
Caitlyn wondered up behind him and shone her flashlight on the paper.
"It's night guys. Didn't anyone else bring a flashlight?"
Everyone shook their head.
"Too conspicuous," Brian said, "just like your clothes!"
Caitlyn began to defend her brightly colored clothes, but stopped knowing she could never win against Brian.
Brooke picked up her bag, "we should go. We need to get a head start. Our parents will know were gone in the morning."
The others agreed, picked up their bags and began walking south.
I know this doesn't sound too sci-fi-ish but it is!! Trust me! Let me know what you think! :)
