Alcohol

I.

to be millions of miles in outer
space, f l y i n g through the
universe in as shower of
meteorites all red and gold and
flying fasterandfaster, spurting
and spinning around the rim of the
sky, the sun streaming with
snowflakes falling gently. Controlling
the universe while catching stars and
planets as they whizzed past. Oh,
the ecstasy and ravishment.
then I soared d

walls came back into v i e w. The
colours vanished and the
freedom and the rapture
merges into a disarray of
whiteness.

Head aches.

II.

Now and always your body begs
For the chemicals to blind your eyes
To make time rush by quicklyAnd make it all possible to get by

Your mind goes blank and freeze
Your dreams are finally freed
Reality sucks and it disappears
Now its only fantasies that you see

It sooths you and dulls the pain
Makes the lies all go away
Cures you from your heartache
But it gets harder each passing day

The effect is fleeting, temporary
Your problems still remain there
You do it again, never learning
Until you get feel that familiar stare

Shrouded eyes
Clouded mind
Desperate child
There's more of your kind.

A/N: I used descriptive expression for "I", and then the poem switches to a passive tone from an outsider's view at "II".
