The Beginning before End
author: anonymous
Long ago, before the beginning of time, there lived a shadow not known to either heaven or hell. He kept himself hidden for many years, not revealing himself to anyone. He was born of the devil's blood, and reincarnated by evil. His name was Fallen One.
For years Fallen One had existed without existing. He never stayed in one place for long in case of suspicion. He had but one plan... to lay waste to mankind. He knew that even if he were to be caught that he could be killed. He needed an apprentice. Someone he could tudor and teach the Black Arts to. He had searched for years, but no one had enough evil in their hearts to accept him, for they were sure to betray him and reveal him for what he truly, or untruly, was. Then, the day had come. The day that his apprentice would rise... he knew undoubtfully that this was to be the one. The one who could help him. Fallen One fastened his cloak and stepped out into the night. He arrived at the hospital were the proud mother and father were now getting their first glance at their newborn child. Suddenly, a power failure swept across the hospital and by the time the light had been restored both parents were dead and the child was gone.
Fallen One raised the child in a fatherly fashion. Although the child was mortal, he barely needed feeding. Fallen One began the boys training as soon as possible. For this child displayed an amazing amount of power... even for his age. The baby was soon able to make things float and zoom across the dark cave were he and Fallen One resided. Tiny Zasz grew older and his powers became more apparent. Zasz grew stronger, and older. Soon, tiny Zasz was not so tiny anymore. As he reached his sixteenth birthday, for the first time, he was able to see sunlight. The sun strained his eyes, but he adapted quickly. Fallen One was very pleased of the progress his apprentice had made. The first time he had gone out Zasz was able to fly, possess others, even lift a semi without lifting a finger. Zasz's skills were constantly challenged by Fallen One. The year's passed, and Zasz grew ever stronger, even outdoing his master in some of the trials Fallen One had set forth. This is were our story takes place, twenty three years after Zasz's birth... the year 2003...
"Setaro Ivnok untero Sor-"
"It is Ivnok then setaro untero soronus my young apprentice." Fallen
One said from a dark corner of the cave.
"Forgive me master." Zasz's voice came from behind an ancient book of
spell's.
"Do it again then." Fallen One coached.
"Yes master." Zasz cleared his throat,"IVNOK SETARO UNTERO
SORONUS!!!"
The crackling fire roared and sent flicks of fire across the room to Zasz who
caught the flames in his hands. Zasz peered at them for a moment and then
closed his fist, extinguishing the flames.
"Bravo my young apprentice, you are showing significant improvements on
that spell." Fallen One said with a grin.
"I was able to do the spell when I was seven." Zasz commented.
"Aahh that you could, but you could never do the spell to my
satisfaction." Fallen One said crossing the room and closing the spell
book,"And to think it took you sixteen years to finally get it
right."
"It did not take sixteen years." Zasz said coldly.
"You are in your twenty third year are you not?" Fallen One asked.
"Yes master." Zasz replied.
"Then it took you sixteen years to perfect." Fallen One
said,"And unless you change your tone with me I may not be so forgiving
with you, my young apprentice."
"Yes master." Zasz said bitterly.
"Good. Now, we have to go to the surface tonight, so I don't want
you to mess around, the time is near when we make our final strike
against the humans." Fallen One said firmly,"There is to be no
foulups."
"Yes master." Zasz answered.
"Grab your cloak and follow me." Fallen One ordered. Both of
them grabs identical black cloaks and slowly walked from the cave. Fallen
One waved his hand and the entrance to the cave was sealed.
Zasz and Fallen One walked to the nearby city, making sure to
keep their faces hidden. They walked until they reached a deserted
parking lot.
"What are we doing here master?" Zasz asked curiously.
"Zasz, I want you to tell me what you see..." Fallen One said,
surveying the city.
"I see a world to be conquered, a world to control..." Zasz
said," Why? what do you see master?"
"Filth." Fallen One answered,"Only to be cleansed... come Zasz,
the night awaits."
"Yes master."
"Did you bring what I ordered you to bring?" Fallen One asked.
"You mean your lamb's blood?" Zasz asked.
"Yes I mean my lamb's blood."
"I have it master." Zasz said showing Fallen One a goblet from within
his robes.
"Excellent, I shall require it now." Fallen One said,"Hand me
the cup Zasz."
"Yes master." Zasz replied handing the goblet to Fallen One.
Fallen One clutched the cup and slowly began to drink, he finished all, and
left not a drop.
"Aaaahhh... very good cold, lamb's blood." Fallen One said to Zasz.
"Shouldn't we get going master?" Zasz said.
"Yes, I suppose we should. Come my young apprentice... the night
grows short..." Fallen One said, with an evil look in his eyes.
Zasz followed Fallen One to the heart of the city, he'd never
been allowed to travel in the city for fear of being revealed. Zasz tried
to get a good look, but Fallen One only quickened his pace. It was only
when they were outside a bar when Zasz realized what was going to happen.
"We're not?... I mean, we're not really"
"What? kill them?" Fallen One answered,"Of course Zasz, haven't
I taught you anything?"
"But right here?" Zasz asked.
"Oh no of course not," Fallen One whispered,"We'll lead them
away from here...then carry out the deed."
"But why?"
"Because it is written in the Book of Inoksun that a human sacrifice is
needed in order to start the ceremony... we need their blood." Fallen One
finished,"Now follow me..."
"Yes master." Zasz said, following Fallen One into the bar. It
was a strange sight, two men with hooded cloaks walking into a bar, but most of
the people were drunk, and didn't care.
"Now for the disguises" Fallen One said, concentrating hard.
"Hamuntera" Fallen One whispered. Instantly, the wrinkles in
Fallen One's face vanished and his eyes changed from a grey to a dark blue.
His aged white hair was replaced by dark, wavy jet black hair. His
nose which was so crooked, shrunk to a normal size and smoothed out. His
long and lanky body shifted to a body of a young body builder... Fallen One
smiled.
"The perfect disguise." He whispered,"Now your a young mortal,
so you should be fine just the way you are."
"What are we supposed to be looking for again master?"
"Sacrifices. Anyone who may have the slightest interest in you.
Oh, and by the way, don't call me master, it might draw attention to
us." Fallen One said,"Good luck."
With that Fallen One put up his hood on his cloak and sat at the bar.
Zasz looked around, looking for a sacrifice for the final task. (In case
you haven't noticed Zasz isn't too keen to the whole thing.) Zasz paced
the bar, lowering his hood and casting his cloak into a shadow. Zasz knew
he must keep his word to his master, for the prophecy must be fulfilled.
He would rule the humans which shunned him so many years ago.
Fallen One had told him the whole story; the humans had cast him out and
left him. Fallen One had heard his cries when he was above ground.
Fallen One had cared for him, like a father. Fallen One raised him
like he was raised... with a loathing of mankind, and now here he was, learning
the Dark Arts from the most powerful being in the world. Still... Zasz
didn't like the idea of killing, no matter what the purpose was. Fallen
One had always told him that there is to be no pity on victims. His
thoughts were interrupted when a young lady brushed against him.
"Sorry." the lady said.
"My mistake," Zasz replied," Didn't see you there."
"Are you that strange guy that walked in with that coat?" she asked.
"Yes." Zasz replied," I am here with my ma- I mean friend."
"Cool." she said mildly," I saw you when you came in, I was
hoping to get a chance to meet you. By the way, I'm Sarah."
"Zasz, a pleasure." Zasz said bowing before he could stop himself.
Fool Zasz said to himself humans don't bow to each other. Zasz cast a look
across the bar to were Fallen One was. He was talking with a young blonde-haired
woman. Fallen One and Zasz met eyes, and Zasz sent a message
telepathically; Let's get out of here. Fallen One nodded slightly and
stood up, the blonde following him to where he and Sarah stood.
"Hello Zasz." Fallen One said," This is Veronica. Veronica,
Zasz."
"Pleasure." Zasz said, remembering not to bow.
"Who's your friend?" Fallen One asked nodding at Sarah.
"Oh, this is Sarah. Uh, Sarah, this is... this is..." Zasz
trying to figure out what Fallen One had named himself.
Bill, I named myself Bill my young apprentice.
"Bill." Zasz replied.
"Well Sarah it's nice meeting you." Fallen One said slowly, kissing
her hand.
"Brrrr your hands are cold." Sarah said with a shudder.
"Well it's cold this time of year." Fallen One replied with a
grin," Now, did you have any plans for tonight Sarah?"
"Not really, I was going to eat and maybe have a drink, but otherwise
nothing on my schedule." Sarah replied.
"Excellent." Fallen One said,"Let's go." So Fallen
One, Zasz, Veronica, and Sarah walked out of the tiny bar and began to walk
back to the deserted parking lot, unknown to Veronica and Sarah.
They all arrived back near the lot at about midnight.
Fallen One seemed quite pleased that they had arrived so late... he cast
off his disguise and stopped suddenly.
"Bill?" Veronica asked uncertainly,"Bill are you ok?"
Fallen One did not answer, but began to chant an incantation.
"Sacklem Setna, Sacklem Setna, Sacklem Setna..." Fallen One chanted.
"Zasz, what's going on?" Sarah asked.
"You need not worry about it." Zasz replied,"All is well."
Zasz too began to chant until both he and Fallen One were practically shouting
it. Suddenly, a swooshing noise filled the air, like a jet revving up, the
noise became louder... and louder... and louder until the sound was too
unbearable to hear. Sarah and Veronica covered their ears as a giant
shadow began to spread across the parking lot, blacking out the full moon, and
causing a power failure to the entire city. Zasz and Fallen One began to
generate a sort of heat, the power coursed through their bodies, causing them
to take shape of their true identities. The energy began to die down...
the darkness lifted... Fallen One leapt out of the darkness first and took out
his victim. Needless to say he didn't need to move at all. The
power that he now controlled could have just sucked the energy straight out of
her. Veronica was left in a bloody heap of bones and flesh. Sarah
began to run, but wasn't fast enough. Zasz simply lifted her from the
ground and easily snapped her neck, killing her instantly.
"I knew I could count on you my young apprentice." Fallen One
commented,"Hurry, and bring the bodies we must prepare for the
ceremony."
Zasz stood silent. He looked into Sarah's eyes, staring long and
hard into the eye's of what used to be a living human being. Those eye's
had a strange effect over him... for the first time in his life, Zasz felt
pity. Inside him a major battle was taking place. One side of him
was full of hate for these people, the people that had cursed him and abandoned
him, left him to die. While the other side was actually willing to
protect the humans. He realized that if Fallen One was given the power to
control these people that this would happen to all mankind... and that this
would happen to the women and children too. He paused, and then faced his
master.
"No." Zasz said firmly.
"What?" Fallen One asked.
"I won't help you." Zasz said,"I can't let this happen
anymore."
"What do you mean?" Fallen One asked taking Veronica's blood and
placing it into a glass vile.
"I won't help you destroy the humans." Zasz said, his eye's burning.
"You fool!" Fallen One said, his eyes flashing dangerously,"Have
you no idea how long I have waited for this day to come?! I will not be
betrayed by my own apprentice!"
"Well, I'm not helping you." Zasz repeated firmly.
"You know I need your blood in order to perform the ritual." Fallen
One whispered.
"Then you'll have to kill me to get it." Zasz said.
"As you wish." Fallen One said casting his cloak on the ground.
Fallen One bowed to Zasz, and Zasz bowed to Fallen One. Each one
stared at each other for a second then...
"IHITNU SETNA!!!" Zasz shouted focusing all his power at Fallen One.
Fallen One didn't even try to move, instead he simply put his hand and
blocked the attack. Zasz just stood as Fallen One actually absorbed the
attack. Then Fallen One threw the attack back, knocking Zasz off his feet
and against a lamp post. His lip was bleeding and he felt his kneecap
shatter. Zasz moaned in pain as his master bound him with something that
felt like ice against his chest.
"My, my, my..." Fallen One said, cutting Zasz across the cheek to
retrieve some of his blood,"To think that you were my greatest hope, that
you were my most deloved son... now you have turned your back against me, a
foolish mistake."
"Even though you raised me like you I never quite got your way of
living." Zasz said struggling with his bindings,"I would have joined
you, but you are a monster, just like my mother and father, the way they
abandoned m-"
"Oh, I have a little something to say about that." Fallen One said
with an evil glint in his eye. He walked over to the remains of Sarah and
took some of the blood from her neck. Fallen One then proceeded to cut a
small slit above his shoulder, causing just a little fleck of his own black
blood to fall into the vile. Instantly, the blood in the vile turned
white and began emitting smoke. Fallen One crouched next to Zasz.
Then, Fallen One whispered to Zasz.
"I killed your parents."
An insane smiled creeped across Fallen One's face as though he was re-enacting
his most favorite memory.
"You killed my parents?!" Zasz replied, a wave of fury swept over
him, making him struggle even harder against his bindings.
"Yes." Fallen One replied,"After I had taken you from them they
seemed useless to keep alive." Then Zasz snapped.
"YOU TOOK ME FROM MY PARENTS!!?? THEN EVERYTHING WAS A LIE!!" Zasz
shouted angrily,"MY PARENTS DIDN'T LEAVE ME!! YOU DID THIS AND NOW YOU'LL
PAY!!!"
Zasz burst his chains and lundged at Fallen One. Zasz wasn't thinking
about what Fallen One could do to him, all that mattered now is that Zasz hurt
Fallen One as much as he could. Zasz began to wail on Fallen One, hitting
him as hard as he could. Finally Fallen One escaped Zasz's clutches, he
had a nasty cut across his face and he had a black eye. The anger that
burned inside Zasz grew, his chin trembled and his eyes filled with hate.
"You deserve to die." Zasz said shakily stepping in front of Fallen
One.
"Go ahead." Fallen One dared,"Kill me. Then what are you
to do? Tell the humans that you are not of normal blood? That you
can't stand light any more than I can? They would dismember you, toss you
in a laboratory, and slowly kill you... killing me will just make everything
worse."
"Maybe for you," Zasz said,"But I perfer fate."
"As you wish." Fallen One said, flipping backwards and landing on his
feet.
"OCULARUS INFERNUM!!!"
"OCULARUS INFERNUM!!!"
Both of them cursed each other at the same time... each using the dismemberment
death. Both bodies simply were ripped apart, leaving nothing but 4
mangled bodies and 2 black robes... but when the blood of Fallen One mixed with
the blood of Zasz, an outline was formed... a body, concealed within an
orb-shaped pool of blood which hardened and took it's first breath of life...
the blood had created a female... a new dark youngling...
Kerrigan...
The End.....?
