A/N: Ok, this is extremely sad. Well, it was for me, anyway. This is the dream I had last night. Maybe I'll make a story out of it…You decide if you want me to end it with another chapter…but this is my original dream.

"I'll bet you that you can't eat a whole pizza!" yelled Jeff, sitting next to me.

"I'll bet you I don't want to…" I said dully, checking my watch.

It was Halloween night, and I was sitting in the pizza parlor at our school with all of my popular friends. The school was having a party inside the classrooms and all throughout the halls where all of my best friends were.

And where was I? Sitting here, pretending to have fun with all of the stupid popular people. Don't ask me how I got there, I just was there. I suppose that's what happens when you can't say no.

I had been there for about an hour already, and I hadn't eaten anything. Pizza wasn't one of my favorite foods, you see. So I had consumed about fifty or so Shirley Temples, all with extra cherries.

I was there with my cousin Jeff, and all of his friends, as well as my ex-best friend Jamie, who was going out with my cousin. He was a bit dim, if you get my drift, and was extremely popular.

"You guys, how about if we…" Jamie sniggered, "If we poison the pizza, and give it to some homeless dude!"

This caused everyone sitting around the table to burst out laughing, and the guy sitting at the cash register glare.

I rolled my eyes. "I need some fresh air," I said, and got up from the table.

"Don't go too far!" Jeff called to me, "Don't forget, you promised."

"Aye, aye, sir…" I said dully, and walked out the door. Sighing, I slammed my back up against the front of the store, sliding down to sit on the cement.

'Why did I agree to do this?' I asked myself, slamming my head against the building.

All of a sudden, I heard a creak. I shut up right quick, looking around me wildly, trying to figure out what had made the noise, but it was too dark to see anything. Creak it came again, and this time I knew in what direction it was coming from. I looked straight ahead of me to the school building about fifteen feet away, and then up.
There, on the roof, was a man. I could hardly see him, but I knew he was there. I watched him move across the stretch of building I could see, then go round the corner and down a couple feet, where he sat down immediately. He hadn't noticed me.

Trying to be extremely quiet, in case this man meant trouble, I slowly got up, prepared to go back inside to tell the pizza guy what I had seen, when one of my best friends, Holly, came running down between the buildings, screaming my name.

She wore a look of terror on her face, that looked even scarier than normal because of her vampire costume, and right away I could tell she was crying. "Danielle!" she sobbed, finally reaching me.

"What is it? What's wrong?" I asked, holding her shoulders tightly.

"It's…it's terrible! Guns, knives, everything! A man! It was a man! It's crazy! He…he shot, and he slashed…and he killed! We have to get inside! Come with me! Danielle, they're dead!"

This news felt like a knife through my heart. First, I realized we were in serious danger; the man on the roof had now gotten to his feet and was watching us intently. Second, I realized that Holly was telling me that some of our friends were dead–whom, I didn't want to know. And third, I realized that we had to run.

So we did. I left my cousin and all the stupid people in the pizza parlor and took Holly's hand and we ran down between the buildings, and straight into the cafeteria, where a large number of people had already been gathered.

I looked around at all the faces; some were bruised, some were bloody, but most were just covered in tears. I felt my own face, to find I was crying as well. What had compelled someone to do such a terrible thing?

All of the lunch tables had been set out, and there were a bunch of people sitting at them, but most were up and running around; all the people were having panic attacks. Holly looked around frantically, searching for someone, and when she didn't see them, she collapsed into tears again.

I dragged her over to the nearest table, and sat her down across from my homeroom teacher, Mrs. Miller. She also happened to be Holly's boyfriend, Ryan's, mother. He was also one of my best friends.

I looked across at her, and realized at once that something had happened to Ryan. The woman was balling her eyes out, and had her arms wrapped around her head, trying to shut out the world. Then I looked over at Holly, and found her doing the same thing. I felt another sharp pain in my heart, and collapsed into another bout of tears.

Soon I realized that more and more people were coming in, and the teachers gathered there had no idea what they were doing. I got up from the table, leaving Holly and Mrs. Miller there, and went to the nearest teacher.

Luckily, it was Mr. Jones, but he looked like he had little sanity left. He was trying to get through on the phone to the police station, but was dialing the wrong numbers over and over.

"Mr. Jones!" I said quickly. "I know where the man is!"

This seemed to snap him out of his trance. At once he slammed the phone down, got out his cell phone, and called the right number.

"I need backup! We are at William Collier High School, and we have a problem! A man with a gun and a knife has been wiping students out! There are at least a dozen dead! Hurry!"

He hung up the phone and turned to me. "Where did you say he was?" he asked quickly.

"Across from the pizza parlor, on top of the roof!" I said, and he quickly went out the door next to him.

As he went out, more people came in. I gasped to see my friends Tawnya and Tony. They were both crying, but I hugged them quickly and motioned for them to go sit down by Holly.

More and more people came in, and soon the MPR was full with students. No more of my friends came in. I was extremely worried about my best friend, Katie. Knowing her she would have tried to take the guy out herself. I was shaking harder than I ever had, and I was beginning to loose my sanity.

Everyone was running around frantically, so I decided to go back over to Holly and the rest of them. I sat down quietly next to Holly, who had stopped crying and was just sobbing, staring at the table in front of me. "What happened?" I asked, but it was not a question; it was a demand.

Holly let out a sob, but said, "You have to sit down."

"I am sitting down, now tell me what happened." I still refused to look at her, and stared at the table in front of me.

Holly choked, "We were in the hallway, all of us, and it was before anything had happened yet, and we were all having a really good time, dancing around happily and stuff. Will was telling me how much he liked you, and I had persuaded him into asking you out when we saw you, and that's when it happened."

I was crying now. I had liked Will, maybe even loved Will, for a while now, and Holly was telling me that he liked me back, and wanted to go out with me. However, judging by the fact that he was not sitting here next to me, something had happened to him. I was even more worried.

"The lights went out, and I grabbed Ryan. I heard a shot, and he was dead. I screamed, and grabbed onto Katie. Bang, and she died too. All around me, I heard shots, and people fell to the floor. The lights came back on. I was the only one I could see that was still alive. I ran down the hallway, poking into every classroom, telling them what happened, making them run into the MPR. Then I went to get you. Everyone's dead."

I wasn't crying. I was way past crying. I don't think I was even breathing. This was even worse than I had thought. Everyone was dead. Why had this terrible thing happened? Looking around from the table, finally, I saw Mrs. Miller crying even harder, and I saw Tony and Tawnya crying, and Holly literally balling her eyes out. I took a deep breath, and let my head fall to the table. My life was ruined.
