Raevyn's Sorrow

Raevyn rushed down the hall of the Caern, her booted feet clopping down the corridor. When she finally reached the hospital caves, she ran to her mother's dragon sized room, ignoring the few dragons in human form outside the door, her child-hood friend Tere, and his adoptive mother, Mira.

Inside the room lay full-grow sky blue dragon, drenched with blood and sweat and studded with arrows. Her wings were sliced up, and dropped at weird angles. Next to the huge body, lay a brown-green dragon, with tears rolling down his long face, his wings close to his body. Raevyn slowed and looked into the bloodshot eyes of the green dragon, her face full of concern and sorrow,

"What happened father?"

"When your mother was searching near the human Myst in her dragon form, a group of humans appeared, and they panicked. caught her off guard. She barely made it home." Fury filled the young dragon like nothing had ever done before. She picked up a human arrow that had fallen, and broke it like a twig,

"They will pay." She stormed out of the room, leaving her father speechless with the body of her mother. On the way out she ran into Tere. Ignoring him completely, she proceeded to the front gate.

"Raevyn!" she heard a voice behind her,

"WHAT Tere?" she snapped. She turned and faced him. He came up and grabbed her shoulders,

"I heard what happened and I know what you're going to do, but I ask you now, don't go!" She pushed him away and kept walking towards the gate. When a guard got in her way, she tried to push him, but he only grabbed her arm,

"Get out of my way!" she yelled, "Let me through!"

"Raevyn, please don't struggle, we can't let you slaughter humans,"

"But they killed my mother!" When she continued to struggle from the guard's grip and almost got out, Tere came to hold her back as well. "God damnit Tere! Move!" He held her tighter and pulled her close,

"No! Raevyn, listen to me! You killing all humans for vengeance won't make you feel better or bring your mother back," her struggling slowed, "it's ok, you don't have to cry alone." Her struggling finally ceased, and Tere and the guard released her. She fell to her knees and punched the ground, causing her knuckles to bleed.

"Mother." she murmured. She fell to her knees and started crying. Tere kneeled down and embraced her. Raevyn turned and sobbed into his chest, releasing all her sorrow.

"It's ok." he whispered, "I'm here."
