Hi, this is the prologue for Dreams of Reality. Please read it and let me know what you think! This story is a fantasy; you just have to wait for that bit to come. All the characters in this story are made by me or based on someone I know. Hope you enjoy.

Prologue

I was running I couldn't stop. My lungs were protesting at the lack of air, but I couldn't stop. So ignored the burning pain in my chest that came with each rise and fall, in every breath I took. Tears were streaming unheeded down my face mixing with the rain as I sprinted down the sidewalk. The sobs were racking my entire body with the shear force of them. To put it simply I was cold, wet and an emotional mess. I came to the bus stop just in time to catch the bus before it left; I climbed on and went straight to the back corner. I sat down and drew my legs up to my chest, still crying softly. I lift a tentative hand to my check fingering it softly, wincing softly at the contact. I was going to have a bruise tomorrow if not already. I watched the houses fly by.

I knocked hard on the front door shaking violently as a harsh gust of wind ripped though my soaked clothing. Went to knock again just as the front door swung open, revealing a woman in about her early 30's. She was beautiful; she had a stunning figure, short black hair that fell just above her shoulders and large brown eyes.
"Alexia! What happened to you?" I opened my mouth to talk but couldn't say anything and just started sobbing again. She pulled me inside and sat me down in front of the fire that was burning I her living room. "I'll me right back" she said putting her hand softly on my shoulder before hurrying off. She came back moments later holding a tracksuit out to me. "Here" she passed me the track suit "it doesn't look the best but it will keep you warm and it's comfortable. Go change" she gestured for me to go with a nod of her head.

When I came back into the lounge room she had a warm mug of hot chocolate waiting for me, I she walked over and took my wet clothes from me before laying them out in front of the fire. She sat with me while I drank my hot chocolate not talking just sitting there watching the fire, giving me a change to calm down and get comfortable. She was good that way she never pushed me into telling her anything, just made sure I was comfortable, and encouraged me to speak.
"What happened Lexie?" she said after I had visible calmed down quiet a bit. I looked up at her from staring into the fire. I took a shaky breath and looked back into my mug.
"His girlfriend dumped him, he always get mad when that happens so he started to drink. I was up stairs in my room trying to keep out of the way to avoid any problems." I paused again breathing deeply "Anyway he got drunk. I could hear him throwing stuff around and bashing into walls. To scared to go down I just turned my music on softly to drown out the sound a little. I herd him start to come up the stairs and I thought he was finally going to go to bed. When suddenly my bedroom door burst open and he came in and started yelling at me. None of what he was saying made any sense though, so I didn't answer him. He yelled and threw a wine bottle at me, which I dodged, but that only angered him, he grabbed me and threw me against the wall the started screaming 'it's was your fault that Lynette dumped me, you idiot girl! Why couldn't you just do as your told! I'll make you wish that you had never shown your face around her again!" then he punched me in the face. I just ran after that" she moved across to me and pulled me into a hug gently. She pulled back after a while and looked at me.
"Lexie" she said taking one of my hands "I moving interstate soon-"
"What!" I screamed, "No you can't move interstate I need you!" I pleaded with her breaking down again.
"Lexie, listen to me. What I was going to say was that maybe you could come with me and I could set you up in your own flat seems I'm moving in with my boy friend"
"But I'm not old enough to have a place of my own yet and dad would never let me!"
"You turn 18 in 3 weeks by then you will be able to legally move out of home and live on your own, you can stay with me till then"
"Thank you so much mum!" I said running into her embrace " I wish I could of lived with you all these years"
"I know Lexie so do I"
