Remember the Seven by Takato's Dreamer (rainytears)

disclaimer: This is a poem dedicated to all of those who lost their lives on the Colombia. I will never forget this day.

Please pray for the families, for everything.....

February first. It doesn't have a tragic ring to it,

But it will forever be a break in the transmission of time.

The melody faltered today as they fell from the sky,

For the wind of destiny was a bit too strong.

After it all..... silence, the most powerful of sounds.

The absence of noise is the indication that it is over,

Their chapter of life has been concluded without warning.

A hastily scribbled conclusion to a story of hopes and dreams

Will forever softly touch our lives as we think......

As we ponder the wind, the sky, the ending of it all.

The star-bound warriors who brushed the crest of the universe

Have fallen into the past, just another news story on some day in February.

Will anyone tell the tale of the astronauts who met their fate,

Or will the wind blow them away like vaporous memories?

I will look at the sky every once in a while, and a faint tear will fall,

And the distant February day will remain.

I'll remember you.

End notes: I hope that you may find some solace in this poem, everyone. It is hard to write for tragedies because they are so sudden, and yet inevitable. Please do not fear your death but do not deny it... everyone has a story as their life. How will you finish your chapter?

Do not forget the Colombia.
