KK: YAY! I have a new poem up! This one I entered into a writing contest a week ago. (I have no idea what the results are yet).

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Bitter Raindrops

The rain pounds on the ground outside my shelter.

The melancholy clouds seem to cry upon the earth,

But their sadness does not compare to my own.

All I have known has abandoned me,

Nothing is solid and nothing stays the same.

The world confuses me,

Its harsh blows of correction thunder down on my back.

What was real is now fake,

Myths are now history.

I feel deserted and dejected from the world -

What will become of me?

The rain rattles down on my hiding place even harder.

I can do nothing but I sit there, forever enveloped in my thoughts.

What do you think? I know it's a bit short, but that was the maximum amount of words it could be for the contest!
